Animated sculpture at Forestry Tasmania’s Dismal Swamp Interpretation Centre.
“Upon visiting Dismal Swamp for the first time I contemplated the idea of using the super-real analogy of an object that creates a sense of amazement and mystery. The sense of reflecting on the dichotomy of the natural, and the ordered, and the man-made. The Engaeus Fosser crayfish installation is an automated industrial style sculpture based on the idea that everything in nature is either rising or falling, varying in accordance with some cycle or another. It is indeed the cycle of life that intrigues all of us.” Yvonne Rees-Pagh
